Projecting the College Football Playoff thru Week 7

At the end of Week 7 of the College Football season, there has been four changes in the number one ranking position according to Ovi's Top 25.  However, in three weeks, the first college football committee rankings will be revealed to establish the first true number one team.  Twelve teams will be seeded with the top four conference champions having a bye week and the fifth ranked conference placed as the number 5 seed.  

According to Ovi's projected college football playoff, Texas, Oregon, Iowa State, and Clemson seek top positions with Army in the lead for the 5 seed.  Other potential games that can be interesting to see:

BYU vs Alabama - They played once in Tuscalossa, Alabama in 1998.  The Crimson Tides won 38-31.  

Notre Dame vs Army - Their first encounter was in 1913 in West Point, NY.  The Irish are on a 15 game win streak, leading the series 39-8-4.  

Miami (FL) vs Penn State - They have only played one bowl game in 13 meetings.  Penn State won the Fiesta Bowl 14-10.  They last played in 2001.  

Ohio State vs Georgia - Both teams have played twice in the post-season. The last meeting, Georgia defeated Ohio State in the CFB Semifinals (Peach Bowl) 42-41.  Georgia went on to win the national championship.  

Texas - Texas won the BCS Championship in 2005.

Oregon - The Ducks made one appearance in 2014 but lost in the national championship.

Iowa State - Iowa State has a bowl record 5-13.  

Clemson - Clemson won the national championship twice (2016 & 2018).
